Episode # 108 - The Karol Wojtyla Theatre Festival
In May and June, Storm Theatre will present three of the plays written by Karol Wojtyla, who eventually became Pope John Paul II. Peter Dobbins, artistic director of Storm, talked to Martin Denton about this mini-festival, which features three of these seldom-performed works. All of the plays were written during World War II or before, long before Wojtyla became pope.
Peter discussed each of the plays at length, giving synopses for each and also looking into how these works fit into the arc of the Pope’s life and career.
The plays are The Jeweler’s Shop, Our God’s Father, and Jeremiah.
