This episode features Matt Oberg and John Clancy (actor and writer/director, respectively) of the new play The Event talking with Martin Denton about this unusual solo performance. The Event is billed as “written and directed by John Clancy, memorized and spoken by Matt Oberg”.

The episode opens with a short excerpt performed by Matt of the very beginning of the play.  This is followed by John, Matt and Martin talking about what this play is like, especially from the audience perspective and why John wanted to write it.  Matt gives his thoughts about why he was chosen to be in the play and his thoughts about this piece.

The Event is currently slated for a one night production, September 14 at 5pm at Barrow Street Theatre.  Both Matt and John hope it will have a long life after that.
