Episode # 342 - Daniel Talbott's Site-Specific Directing Class

Daniel Talbott, Dan Rogers, Hilary Krishnan, Jenn Womack, Rose Ginsberg Aimee Todoroff, and Harry Einhorn
Daniel Talbott is teaching a site-specific directing class for Primary Stages' Marvin & Anne Einhorn School of Theatre this summer. He brings six of his students with him to talk about their craft and about the challenges of being a young director in New York City in 2010. The participants are: Harry Einhorn, Rose Ginsberg, Hilary Krishnan, Dan Rogers, Aimee Todoroff, and Jenn Womack.
Each of these new-generation directors gets time to talk about their goals and their individual experiences working with Daniel and each other. The class itself sounds amazing: a real workout for actors and directors as they stage scenes from classic works in non-traditional spaces all around New York City.
The podcast concludes with each of these directors talking about some upcoming projects (including one production in the 2010 FringeNYC festival). Daniel provides info about a showcase of his students' work planned for August 9th at Seventh Street Small Stage. And listen at the very end for a preview of our next nytheatrecast episode!
