Episode # 294 - Xoregos Performing Company
Shela Xoregos
On this episode of the nytheatrecast, Martin Denton introduces Shela Xoregos whose company, Xoregos Productions, has for several years been producing free theatre in NYC. Shela begins by talking of her years in California as a dancer, choreographer, and actor and the formation of her company there. She continues with her fascinating reason for coming to New York (it has to do with a new corporate headquarters where her theatre used to be).
Shela will be producing Brief Shorts over the summer in parks and libraries in Manhattan and Queens and she speaks with knowledge of how and why she produces free theatre and the importance of having a long run for her productions. She talks of her actors and how she decides what she'll include in an evening.
Shela ends on an interesting note when she hints, rather broadly, of what she hopes her next production will be.
