Episode # 287 - Plays and Playwrights 2009: Author Roundtable
Nick Mwaluko and Colette Freedman
Both Colette Freedman and Nanna 'Nick' Mwaluko saw excerpts from their plays at the launch party for Plays and Playwrights 2009 in April held at T. Schreiber Studio. The next day they joined Martin for this roundtable discussion about their plays Sister Cities and S/He respectively. Colette had flown in from California for the event.
The conversation began by talking about what it was like to see the excerpts, be with their original casts, and participate in the q&a that followed. Martin then asked about their plays and why they wrote them plus some background about each.
Both plays are very different from each other but each has an all female cast and both touch on political/social issues. Nick and Colette spoke in depth about the reasons for this.
