Episode # 278 - Balancing Acts - Surviving and Thriving in the Theater

Melanie Armer, David Hilder, Robin Rothstein, and Craig Pospisil
Robin Rothstein, playwright and reviewer for nytheatre.com, hosts this episode of the nytheatrecast. Robin has invited three members of the indie theatre community to meet and talk about surviving and thriving in the theater ' how members of this community balance their gainful employment with their artistic careers.
Robin is joined by playwright Craig Pospisil, director Melanie Armer, and director/playwright David Hilder. Each of the guests begins by talking briefly about what they do for a living and the discussion quickly continues to talk about how to make time also for their artistic pursuits and the discipline this requires.
Robin elicits interesting points from each of her guests as to where they are in agreement and where each has a unique approach. It is obvious from the give and take that all have given much thought to this topic and have worked out solutions that will prove helpful to others.
